You aren't digital scrapbooking yet?

I haven't tried to convince anybody to start digital scrapbooking lately ... so here goes:

Put down those scissors and glue and boot up your computer! It's so much cheeper (you can reuse "elements" and "papers" over and over again). You can match colors PERFECTLY with photoshop. And it's less 'stuff' to have in your house.

Speed Scrapping Marathon - Jan 7-9

Digi Scraping

Just showing off some of the digital scrapbooking I've done over the past month. I still highly recommend it over paper scrapping. It's so much faster and less expensive.

Digital Scrapbooking - more Alaska

I used the same template (templates rule!!!) for each of these pages, but I flipped it around, so they don't all look 100% the same.

I think I like the Juneau page the best, although the word "Skagway" is a really cute alpha I downloaded.

Digital Scrapbooking - Alaskan Cruise

You might be ashamed to learn that I spend a lot of time digital scrapbooking on our cruise.

Now I didn't take any time away from all the ports or other things, but there was a lot of downtime on the ship. I would take my computer to a martini bar that overlooked the huge atrium area, or sit in the ship's library and scrapbook away. It was fun to play with all the photos I had just taken.

That "Alaskan Amber" page is one of my favorites.

Scrapbooking challenge!

I've been participating in the disboards weekly scrapbooking challenges.

It's a fun way to "force" me to scrapbook.

And there are prizes ... but I haven't won anything yet.

Plus, each week somebody sets up a "challenge".  Like last week the challenge was to use 15 different things on the page.  Sometimes the challenge is to use a specific color palate (like the colors of Aladdin.)

This week it wasn't too restrictive.  We just had to scrapbook a Disney hotel.  Last year we stayed 1 night at the Caribbean Beach for Jonathan's birthday.

Ike Eisenmann

A couple weeks ago Jonathan and I went to see Race to Witch Mountain. But this was no ordinary movie experience ... well, it was pretty ordinary, until the end. Ike Eisenmann was in the theater with us!


Ike (who, I'm guessing is about mid 40) was the child star who played the boy alien in the original 2 Witch Mountain movies. He also has a part in the new Race to Witch Mountain Movie. When his name came up on screen (during the opening credits) we all cheered! And when he part came (he had about 10 minutes of screen time), we all cheered again.

Then, after the movie, we asked him to sign our ticket stubs and got a photo taken with him. He was so nice!


Last, and least, I made a digital scrapbook page with our photo.

The journaling says:  Before Jonathan left home for 4 days he left me a surprise buddy to snuggle with at night.  This was waiting for me when I came home from work.

How cute is this?!?

These 2 pages are from out 2 year anniversary lunch at Le Cellier (when a bird pooped on my shoulder before lunch).

Did I mention I love pretzel bread?  I ate 3 pieces!

That little date strip (on the bottom page) is the only thing I've ever purchased.  I bought it from Britt-ish Designs (www.brittishdesigns.blogspot.com).  I love all her stuff!  And all scrapbookers always talk about how important it is to write the date and journal about what is in the photos.  It makes sense - in 10 years I won't remember all the details.

In my never ending quest to convert everybody to digital scrapbooking, here is why it's awesome.

I think this page is pretty cute.

It's called a quick page.  

I downloaded everything for free!  I just added the photo, and the date, and *bam*, I'm done.

It doesn't get any easier than that.

Digital Scrapbooking

Ok, I'm going on a Digital Scrapbooking phase. If you're not sure what digital scrapbooking is, it's just like regular scrapbooking (where you cut out paper, glue down stuff, etc ...), only you're 'cutting' paper and 'gluing' stuff using Photo shop.

I still need to figure out how to print them all out, and put them in a book of some kind ... but I'm having fun for the moment.

Pizza Planet!

Why is my text blue and underlined?  It's like it's linking somewhere, but I have no idea where.

I've started traveling with my mac book (I'm so cool huh?) because I have ample opportunity to scrapbook at my in-laws house.

Here is one page I whipped up while watching Ice Age 2.

Actually - I totally cheated on it.  It's a 'quick page', meaning everything is already made for me, I just pasted a photo.  I also added the date and the little "you and me" words.  I'm so talented huh?!?

I still am thinking about how to print them out and put them in a scrapbook.  Maybe blurb.com or something similar.

Digi Scraping

I've been scrapbooking for about 10 years now.  I enjoyed doing it, and I really enjoyed looking at the finished products (and remembering stuff I did).

Recently I've fallen into a creative slump.  I actually didn't want to scrapbook because it just took too long.  I wanted results, but I couldn't produce results.

Then I discovered digital scrapbooking.  It RULES!  It's 100X faster, it's easier, and most importantly it's less expensive.  All the paper and stickers and ribbon and other stuff I used to buy are all downloadable and FREE!  Now, you can pay for stuff, but there is tons of free stuff out there.

My favorite "give me free stuff" website:  www.ikeagoddess.blogspot.com.  I check out her blog daily.

My favorite "I might eventually pay money for this" designer is Britt-ish Designs.  Her funky style rocks!  I love everything she does.  Plus she loves Disney.  Basically, I want to be her cyber friend.

He 'made' me be in the photo so people would know the photo was real. Notice how tan my legs are!



He also bought a vertical banner Happiest Celebration banner with Lights, Motors, Action on it.


Now - for some reason - it's my job to go find a curtain rod that will fit this huge thing!
